KD 747 reviewed
The magnets size 40 * 10 * 4 mm as used for the generator of frame size 112 are replaced by magnets size 40 * 10 * 5 mm becasuse the original magnets are no longer at stock at Enes Magnets. A new chapter 7 has been added to KD 747. The title of this chapter is: “Ideas about a 42-pole generator made from a 7.5 kW, 6-pole motor frame size 160”. This bigger generator makes use of 84 neodymium magnets size 40 * 10 * 10 mm. It might be possible to use this generator for the VIRYA-5B3.
KD 761 added
Report KD 761 is added to the menu KD-reports. The title of this report is: “Calculations executed for the 3-bladed rotor of the VIRYA-10 windmill (lambda design = 6) with the hinged side vane safety system connected to an accelerating gear box with a gear ratio i = 20.7 and a 4-pole, 15 kW asynchronous generator for grid connection”.
KD 578 reviewed
Chapter 6 of report KD 578 about the VIRYA-6.5 has been reviewed. At page 12, an alinea is added about the use of an alternative gear box frame size 100 with in parallel shafts. A second alinea is added in which it is mentioned that instead of a 4 kW motor it is possible to use a 5.5 kW motor frame size 112 L as generator for both type of gear boxes. The advantage of a bigger generator is that the generator isn’t overloaded at high wind speeds for the gear ratios i = 12.4 and i = 12.3
KD 341 reviewed
A new chapter 11 has been added to report KD 341 which gives an overview of all VIRYA generators. The title of this new chapter is: “Ideas about a big direct drive PM-generator for the VIRYA-6.5 and the VIRYA-12”.
KD 727 reviewed
Report KD 727 about the VIRYA-12 has been completely reviewed. The PM-generator which was originally made from the housing of a 6-pole motor is now made from the housing of an 8-pole motor. The original short-circuit armature is maintained and the magnets are glued in grooves which are made in between the aluminium short-circuit bars. The windmill is now meant for a project with 14 detached houses.
KD 760 added
The new report KD 760 has been added at the menu KD-reports. The title of this report is: “Ideas about a big direct drive PM-generator for the VIRYA-6.5 windmill using the housing, winding and armature of an 8-pole asynchronous motor frame size 200”. So this PM-generator makes use of the original short-circuit armature. Grooves for the magnets of the north poles are made just in between the aluminium short-circuit bars. The south poles are formed by the remaining material of the armature. The magnet costs are only about € 272 which is very low for a PM-generator of this size.
A new chapter 11 has been added to report KD 341 in which this new generator for the VIRYA-6.5 is described shortly.
KD 624 reviewed
A new chapter 6 has been added to report KD 624 about a 46-pole PM-generator for the VIRYA-6.5. The title of this chapter is: “Using 138 neodymium magnets size 40 * 10 * 10 mm”.
KD 718 reviewed
A new chapter 10 has been added to report KD 718. The title of this chapter is: “Use of a 4-pole motor frame size 112 and a 28-pole original armature”. So the original short-circuit armature is used. Grooves are made just in between the aluminium short-circuit bars and 84 magnets size 40 * 7 * 3 mm are glued into these grooves.
