In report KD 615, the VIRYA-0.98 rotor is described. This rotor is an alternative for the VIRYA-1.04 rotor. The VIRYA-1.04 rotor has 7.14 % cambered blades and manufacture of these blades requires a blade press and special tools for twisting. These tools are rather expensive if only one rotor is made. The VIRYA-0.98 has blades for which both sides are bent 15 degrees and no special press is therefore required. The maximum power of the VIRYA-0.98 is somewhat lower because of the lower diameter and lower maximum Cp but the starting behaviour is better because of the larger chord.

KD 200 reviewed
A new chapter 5 has been added to report KD 200 in which the measurements of the VIRYA-4.2 generator are given. In chapter 5 the estimated characteristics are given for 26 V star. The characteristics for 26 V star are derived from the measured characteristics for 30 V star. Use of this generator for 26 V star might be useful for situations where power is needed already at a very low rotational speed.
